Terms & Conditions

Before you reserve your golf cart, please review the Terms & Conditions below to help ensure a safe, smooth rental experience in San Pedro and across Ambergris Caye.

Rental & Cancellation Policies

  • The primary renter and all drivers must hold a valid driver’s license to rent and operate a golf cart with us.
  • Your physical driver’s license must be carried with you at all times while driving the cart.
  • Reservations can be made in advance with reserve now & pay later confirmation (final payment is collected at pickup or delivery).
  • A valid credit card is required at the start of the rental as a security guarantee and may be used to cover unpaid balances, damage, or traffic fines.
  • Carts are supplied with fuel and should be returned with the same fuel level; a refueling fee will be charged if the cart is returned with less fuel than provided.
  • Cancellations or changes should be made as early as possible; late cancellations or no‑shows may be subject to a fee based on your confirmation email.

Insurance & Collision Policy

  • Basic insurance covers third‑party liability only and does not automatically cover damage to our cart or to personal belongings.
  • If you cause an accident that damages our cart and/or another vehicle, you are responsible for the cost of repairs to our cart; third‑party damage is handled under the liability coverage where applicable.
  • If another driver causes damage to your rental cart, they are responsible for the repairs, but you must follow local law and file a police report for the claim to be processed.
  • In any incident involving injury, property damage, or contact with another vehicle, you must:
    • Stop the cart in a safe place.
    • Notify the police and our rental office as soon as possible.
  • Optional protections or higher coverage limits may be available; refer to your rental agreement for full details.

General Use Guidelines & Street Rules

To keep everyone safe and protect our vehicles, please follow these guidelines while driving your golf cart in San Pedro:

  • Never operate the cart under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs your ability to drive.
  • Do not exceed the seating capacity of the cart; overloading can cause mechanical damage and is unsafe.
  • Always follow posted traffic signs, one‑way designations, and parking regulations.
  • Avoid driving through deep water, on docks, or in any area clearly unsuitable for golf carts.
  • Do not tow other vehicles, carts, or trailers with your rental cart.

Parking Guidelines in San Pedro Town

San Pedro Town has several main streets and specific parking practices. These may change, so always obey current signage and markings.

  • Front Street (Barrier Reef Drive) – Primarily one‑way; follow arrows and park only in designated areas on the permitted side of the street.
  • Middle Street (Pescador Drive) – One‑way in the opposite direction from Front Street; parking is generally allowed only on the marked side.
  • Back Street (Angel Coral Street) – Two‑way traffic with limited parking; only use marked parking zones on the permitted side.
  • Red‑lined curbs or areas marked “No Parking” indicate zones where parking is not allowed.
  • Taxi stands and loading zones are reserved exclusively for licensed taxis and authorized vehicles; do not park your cart there.

If you are unsure whether you can park in a certain spot, choose another location to avoid tickets or towing.

Speed Limits & Safe Driving

  • Drive slowly and defensively; remember that golf carts share the road with pedestrians, bicycles, taxis, and delivery trucks.
  • Respect local speed limits (commonly low in town and residential areas) and reduce speed on unpaved or uneven roads.
  • Use headlights at night and in low‑visibility conditions and avoid driving through heavy rain or standing water when possible.
  • Keep both hands on the wheel and avoid using your phone or other distractions while driving.
